I received my doctorate in developmental psychology from Vanderbilt University and my B.A. in educational psychology from Dartmouth College.

After 11 years in the undergraduate and graduate classroom teaching courses centered on issues of access, opportunity, and equity in education, I am now Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff at Colorado College. I opened Blueprint Educational Strategies in 2013 to work with minoritized and marginalized families on educational advocacy K-16. I also partner with school districts and state departments of education to support teachers and administrators in their efforts to deliver high quality experiences to all learners and their families.

I am the author of Public School Equity: Educational Leadership for Justice, Schooling Multicultural Teachers: A Guide for Program Assessment and Professional Development, Learning from the Inside-Out: Child Development and School Choice, and co-editor of Counternarratives from Women of Color Academics: Bravery, Vulnerability, and Resistance.
